Anyhoo. (Do you say anyhoo? That's the first time I've said it.)
I have high hopes for the future. Dream big, I've always said. At the moment, I want to be a journalist. In fact, as you might remember, I don't want it - I need it. Are you a journalist now? It would make me really happy if you were working at the Guardian or something. Now that would be awesome. But if you lost sight of that dream and you're doing something else that makes you happy, then that's okay. As long as you're happy, that's all that matters. I've believed that all my life - hopefully you still think along those lines. If you don't, you suck.
I also want to write a couple of books - one YA fiction, the other a non-fiction book for young adults about mental health. Back in 2012 I started suffering with anxiety and panic attacks, and for a really long time it was rapidly eating at my life. I'm learning to control it but there are still lots of bad days and I'm still having to miss out on pretty much everything. Hopefully you don't even have bad days anymore, but if you are, that's okay. Look how far you've come. Years have passed, and you're still living and being fabulous. Unless I get run over by a bus, like, a week after I post this. Awkwaaaard.
What I really came here to show you was the following list. It has a small handful of my current thoughts on it that you might have forgotten. From what I've seen, adults tend to lose themselves in paperwork and stress, and this gets worse as they get older until they eventually end up in the ground. Sad, but true. I'm not surprised that that lady in the London Dungeons told me I was a morbid child when I was eight. Do you remember that?
Anyway, here's the list.
1. Please don't waste the rest of your life doing things you're not happy doing. Life is too short for that. Go chase your dreams - I don't need to tell you what those are because, knowing you, you have a massive list of 'em on your phone. I feel like it would be sad if you didn't at least try. (Also, do phones still exist? What are we on, now, the iPhone 60000?)
2. If you're stressed, take a break and relax. Stop being such a workaholic. Slow down. Maybe read a book? I know you're an adult, but YA is a great genre, obviously, and self-care is really important. Especially when you're old. Which you are. (Sorry.)
3. Blogging is my life. It has been for quite a while. Please, please, please tell me that you're still blogging and that you're not just looking at this because you accidentally came across it while Googling your own name, which I so bet you do? Oh my god, you do. Don't even deny it. ...Is it because you're a top journalist now? ;p
4. Please don't have wrinkles.
Really, though, in all seriousness, I hope you're happy, having adventures and enjoying life.
I hope you've travelled, or are planning to. At the moment, I really want to go on a road-trip around Europe - if I never got round to it, maybe you could think about doing that for me. Drop everything and do it, I dare you. Oh, and buy macarons, please. You might not even remember what they are but you'll appreciate it once you get them, trust me.
Everyone makes mistakes, so if you screwed up recently, try not to worry about it.
Just do you. As my current lock-screen says (that's the wallpaper of a phone, basically - as I asked before, do you still have those?) keep going, no matter what.
